Anatomy of Rage, the fourth studio album by Swiss experimental rock quartet Convulsif, vivisects the muscle of fury. How to contract and relax, how to maintain posture in this world’s sore body? From slow, fervent stretching to eruptive buildups, the songs explore both the prolonged and the fractured.
Built on compositions by band member Christian Müller and poems by writer Regina Dürig, the album unfolds through dense textures and an almost physical sense of momentum. Incorporating voice for the first time, the pieces move between poetic metal, dark jazz and doomy atmospheres.
Once again, the band, with its singular instrumentation, unplays genre and style conventions. Tight, hypnotic and rich, Anatomy of Rage offers an endoscopic journey through the tissues of darkness.

Convulsif is a Swiss experimental rock quartet that emerged in 2014 from Convulsif Bigband, a project initiated by bass player Loïc Grobéty. The band explores the tension between composition and improvisation, creating a powerful and constantly evolving sound world at the intersection of different musical languages.
With its distinctive instrumentation — a rhythm section formed by Loïc Grobéty on bass and Maxime Hänsenberger on drums, combined with heavily amplified and electronically treated violin and bass clarinet by Jamasp Jhabvala and Christian Müller — Convulsif develops a unique approach to contemporary rock. Doom, drone, black metal, noise and experimental music are transformed through composed structures, conceptual frameworks and improvisational processes.
Balancing density and openness, repetition and rupture, Convulsif creates a sound that is both physical and unpredictable, rooted in the energy of rock while continuously challenging its conventions.
